We have successfully represented plaintiffs and defendants in cases before numerous state and federal courts including the United States Supreme Court, as well as before regulatory agencies, such as the International Trade Commission. We are also experienced in alternative dispute resolution forums, appreciating that litigation may not be the answer in all circumstances. We frequently combine our litigation skills and expertise with our corporate experience in situations such as work-outs and reorganizations.
Whenever settlement makes sense, we do whatever we can to bring about a successful resolution. If settlement is not an option, however, we have no hesitancy about trying a case to either a judge or a jury. We are also very aware of the financial burden litigation places on clients and make special efforts to control costs and work within budgetary constraints.

Our litigation attorneys are the recipients of numerous honors as well. Mr. Tauger has been named as one of the “Top Bay Area Lawyers” for intellectual property litigation by Bay Area Lawyer Magazine. Mr. Lobbin has been named a Southern California Super Lawyers “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers magazine for 5 consecutive years, and is an adjunct lecturer on Patent Litigation at the UCLA School of Law.
Our litigation attorneys have also published a number of books and articles. Mr. O’Connor has authored three books on intellectual property law: Intellectual Property Law and Litigation; Intellectual Property Law and Litigation, 2nd Edition; and Intellectual Property Law and Litigation: Practical and Irreverent Insights; all published by the American Bar Association (ABA), and Mr. Lobbin has been a contributing co-author of the Patent Litigation Strategies Handbook published by the ABA.
