Education:B.S.E. after completing degree requirements for both Biomedical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering from Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University, 1982 Bar Admissions:New York, North Carolina Summary:Mr. Flynn started his career as an engineer for Duke Power Company, (now Duke Energy) where he worked in a series of assignments with a combination of mechanical systems, instrumentation, and computer systems. While at Duke Power, he obtained his Professional Engineering (PE) license from the State of North Carolina. Mr. Flynn started his legal career in patent litigation with Fish & Neave in New York City before returning to North Carolina and changing his practice focus to advising clients on intellectual property issues including obtaining United States and foreign patent rights. As patents are ultimately enforced in a court of law, the insights gained from experience with patent litigation continue to influence the way Mr. Flynn works with clients to secure their patent rights. Mr. Flynn’s broad engineering background has allowed him to work with a range of electrical, mechanical, medical, and computer software based inventions. |
